RETREATS
Africa holds the space. Finch Safaris holds everything else
For retreats that ask for more than logistics – more thought, more care, and a partner who understands what the experience is meant to make possible.
HOW WE HOLD RETREATS
The container that lets the work land
Most travel operators manage itineraries. We manage the invisible things: the group dynamics, the unspoken expectations, the reason everyone said yes in the first place.
The once-in-a-lifetime moments — the ones no itinerary can guarantee — come from strong relationships with the right suppliers and partners, and a depth of thought and precision of planning most operators never get close to. By the time you arrive, all that remains is to be present.
This is the difference between a trip people talk about for a week and one that changes how they lead, connect, and think.
Before guests arrive
- Clarity on the purpose and shape of the retreat
- Thoughtful planning around organiser, facilitator and group needs
- Fewer decisions, clearer options, faster alignment
- Detailed briefings before anyone arrives
While there
- Careful attention to pace, energy and group dynamics
- Smooth handling of timings, transitions and changes
- Quiet problem-solving behind the scenes
- One point of contact throughout
FACILITATION
The right facilitator changes everything
We source and vet facilitators through a network that’s been built over a decade inside EO and YPO. We’ve sat in the rooms they’ve led.
Whether you need a wellness practitioner, or a leadership coach who can hold space for both vulnerability and strategic thinking, we ensure facilitators are aligned with your specific intentions. They arrive knowing the group, the arc, and the purpose of every moment.
Already working with a facilitator, or are one yourself?
We build around you. The coordination, briefing, and logistics is ours to carry.
RETREAT FORMATS
Luxury with purpose
From transfers and contingency planning to surprise elements, everything is built around how your group actually moves and works together.
EO, YPO & Leadership Retreats
For the forums, chapters, and leadership groups who already know what a great retreat feels like — and hold the bar high because of it.
Confidential conversations need the right container, peer-to-peer learning needs the right environment and group dynamics inside a close-knit forum need to be understood before anyone books a flight. We design for all of it.
The value was always in the room. We just make sure nothing gets in its way.

Board & Corporate Safaris
When the pressure drops, people are genuinely present, and the setting is extraordinary enough to shift perspective, then the real work can begin. Africa does this like nowhere else.
We design these gatherings around your objectives, whether that’s strategic clarity, high-stakes decision-making or team connection. Every detail is held so your people can focus on what they came to do.
Alignment is easy to talk about and hard to build. This is where it actually happens.

Milestone Trips
These are the journeys people carry with them for the rest of their lives. We bring the same depth to milestone travel that we bring to leadership retreats.
A significant birthday, a landmark anniversary, a gathering of the people who have always mattered most — milestone trips require a different level of thought, care, and craft. Everyone in the group arrives with something different they need from the experience. None of it gets missed.
Celebration · Adventure · Legacy Thinking · Meaningful Connection
Wellness Retreats
Renewal doesn’t happen on a schedule.
Wellness retreats are crafted to restore balance and reconnect people with purpose. The pace slows, the setting opens up, and the right people are in the room, all in service of that.
There’s a particular kind of clarity that only surfaces once the body has had time to settle, and Africa has a rare gift for creating that kind of stillness.
Inner Work · Reflection & Renewal · Wellbeing · Personal Mastery
Our retreats are commonly hosted at Finch Hattons in Tsavo and Mahali Mzuri in the Maasai Mara; two camps we know inside out. But we also work beyond our own properties when another setting is a better fit.
OUR PROCESS
How a retreat comes together
01 Conversation
We start with intention. What does this retreat need to do? How should the group feel by the end of it? We begin there, before anything else takes shape.
02 Design
We define the objectives, bring in the right facilitators where needed, and design the retreat so the programme, setting and pace work as one. Every part of the trip is planned in detail, with enough flexibility to respond to the group in the moment.
03 Briefing
Before the group arrives, everyone involved is aligned and fully briefed. The experience feels calm, coherent and well held from the moment guests arrive.
04 Delivery
We pay close attention to the group and the flow of the retreat, quietly adjusting and supporting behind the scenes so the experience can unfold as it should.
LED BY LEENA
Why this work is personal
Leena Gehlot is a long-standing member of both EO and YPO, former EO Kenya Chapter President, and a former member of EO’s Global Learning Committee. She has also served on the boards of global wellness organisations.
She has organised, attended, and shaped the kinds of gatherings that Finch Safaris now designs for others.
She knows the unseen pressures on the organiser, the different personalities in the room, and the quiet details that make the difference between a good retreat and an extraordinary one. That insider perspective shapes every retreat Finch Safaris designs.
